چکیده

This work focuses on improving state-of-the-art in stochastic local search (SLS) for solving Boolean satisfiability (SAT) instances arising from realworld industrial SAT application domains. The recently introduced SLS method CRSAT has been shown to noticeably improve on previously suggested SLS techniques in solving such real-world instances by combining justification-based local search with limited Boolean constraint propagation on the non-clausal formula representation form of Boolean circuits. In this work, we study possibilities of further improving the performance of CRSAT by exploiting circuit-level structural knowledge for developing new search heuristics for CRSAT. To this end, we introduce and experimentally evaluate a variety of search heuristics, many of which are motivated by circuit-level heuristics originally developed in completely different contexts, e.g., for electronic design automation applications. To the best of our knowledge, most of the heuristics are novel in the context of SLS for SAT and, more generally, SLS for constraint satisfaction problems.

Depth-based Local Search Heuristics for Boolean Circuit Satisfiability

We propose a structure-exploiting heuristic for the justification-based stochastic local search (SLS) method CRSat for Boolean circuit satisfiability. Experimental evaluation shows that the proposed depth-based heuristic significantly improved the performance of CRSat on structural instances arising from industrial applications. A proof of probabilistically approximate completeness (PAC) of CRS...

Depth-Driven Circuit-Level Stochastic Local Search for SAT

We develop a novel circuit-level stochastic local search (SLS) method D-CRSat for Boolean satisfiability by integrating a structure-based heuristic into the recent CRSat algorithm. D-CRSat significantly improves on CRSat on real-world application benchmarks on which other current CNF and circuit-level SLS methods tend to perform weakly. We also give an intricate proof of probabilistically appro...

Weights Stagnation in Dynamic Local Search for Sat

Since 1991, tries were made to enhance the stochastic local search techniques (SLS). Some researchers turned their focus on studying the structure of the propositional satisfiability problems (SAT) to better understand their complexity in order to come up with better algorithms. Other researchers focused in investigating new ways to develop heuristics that alter the search space based on some i...

Justification-Based Non-Clausal Local Search for SAT

While stochastic local search (SLS) techniques are very efficient in solving hard randomly generated propositional satisfiability (SAT) problem instances, a major challenge is to improve SLS on structured problems. Motivated by heuristics applied in complete circuit-level SAT solvers in electronic design automation, we develop novel SLS techniques by harnessing the concept of justification fron...

Justification-Based Local Search with Adaptive Noise Strategies

We study a framework called BC SLS for a novel type of stochastic local search (SLS) for propositional satisfiability (SAT). Aimed specifically at solving real-world SAT instances, the approach works directly on a non-clausal structural representation for SAT. This allows for don’t care detection and justification guided search heuristics in SLS by applying the circuit-level SAT technique of ju...
